27 Nov Agile Cold Storage Celebrates Grand Opening in Claymont, DE.
Agile Cold celebrated the grand opening of their 5th facility on October 17th. Adding this 162,500 sq ft warehouse in Delaware will allow Agile Cold to expand into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast markets and help meet growing proximity-related demands for fresh, refrigerated and frozen foods and more frequent deliveries. The Claymont facility will be a Very Narrow Aisle (VNA) Semi-Automated facility with 5 multi-temp rooms. Our forklifts will have heated cabs that can reach up to 70ft.
Agile Cold extends its gratitude to Brett Sadler and John Cartier for their invaluable contributions as speakers at the event. Their voices have been instrumental in realizing this project. Additionally, we congratulate Matt Meyer on his recent win. The Claymont facility is located at the historic First State Crossing site. This facility represents a $170 million investment and will support modern, energy-efficient cold storage with the latest in automation and multi-temperature storage capabilities. This is not just a win for our industry, but also for the community of Claymont, revitalizing a site once dominated by steel manufacturing into a hub of innovation and opportunity. We’re thrilled to be part of Claymont’s transformation and look forward to seeing the positive impact this facility will have on local business and the broader food supply chain.
“We would like to congratulate Matt Meyer on his win this month,” said Don Schoenl, Agile President & CEO. “He has been instrumental in this project, and we look forward to a continued partnership. We have worked closely with Delaware officials who recognized the need for modernized cold storage and the benefits that it offers including job creation and improved supply chain efficiencies. We are grateful to local and state representatives for their professionalism and commitment. Agile is looking forward to servicing our customers and continuing to grow our business in Claymont.”
